Retouching Fun

This was a lot of fun for me. The client approved the original design, but, like most of the time, decided to change it once shot. They asked me if it was possible to make drastic changes under 2 hours. My answer: Mission accepted.

To save time on the editing process, worked with the production team to reshoot the scene with foam core behind the plant and nightstand to create a shadow. They also removed the foot cushion to get the full rug texture for me.

110 minutes left.

I created the two smaller windows by copying the windows on their on separate layer and transformed them to the shape you see. Added a bit of shadow to create the illusion of depth.

90 minutes left.

I isolated the plant shadow and extended the foam core to fill the gaps on the wall. Created textures and color using samples of the wall closest to the window. Blended the color using channels.

60 minutes left.

Transformed and warped the rug, without cushion, to extend beyond its original size. Masked in the rug with cushion to blend in. Recreated shadow under the bed to have the illusion of realness. Sent off to client.

30 minutes left.

Approved!!

I love finding solutions!!
